Trinity Christian College seeks to fill a tenure-track faculty position in biochemistry starting August 16, 2012. Primary responsibilities include teaching two courses and three labs each semester. The successful candidate will teach a two-semester sequence of general chemistry for nursing and allied health students; biochemistry once every two years; and other courses such as analytical chemistry, instrumental analysis, and general chemistry depending on the candidate’s strength and interest.
Trinity’s chemistry department is housed in our ten year old 37,000 sq.ft. science building and has two full-time faculty members along with adjunct professors. Area resources include Argonne National Laboratory (12 miles away) for adjunct faculty as well as student and faculty research opportunities. Trinity is also a member of Associated Colleges of the Chicago Area (ACCA), a consortium of fifteen liberal arts colleges in the area that provides consortial courses, research symposia, and seminars.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. preferred. Previous collegiate teaching experience desired. Trinity seeks
candidates for faculty positions who are professing Christians and committed to
excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. They should support the goals
of a strong liberal arts education in the tradition of Reformed Christian higher
education and be competent to demonstrate to students a mature articulation of
faith and learning.
